Brian Blodgett

North Iowa Community School
Buffalo Center, Iowa
Brian Blodgett started his professional life at North Iowa Community School teaching physics and chemistry. As the World Wide Web expanded, he went back to school and received his Cisco engineering certifications, including a CCNA and CCNI. Brian switched from science instruction to online Cisco networking training for area high schools in cooperation with NIACC of Mason City, Iowa.
Brian formed Next Generation Technologies, an IT support firm, in 1999, and his team of 30 employees provide IT department support for many K-12 schools, as well as several other industries, including the financial sector.
Brian has worked with cyber security for over 20 years, passing and performing numerous IT audits. His knowledge of the K-12 IT landscape and exposure to high security environments has allowed his team to provide for a unique perspective on the state of security in the K-12 world.
Brian still teaches an online class each semester. He feels it is great way to stay connected to his teaching roots (and he enjoys it too! Once a teacher . . . .always a teacher).
